Present Surface Velocity

Thicker Arrows represent NYHOPS, Thinner Arrows represent CODAR

A plot showing the surface velocity near the mouth of New York Harbor (red square above) for the past week. These data are measured from a Stevens CODAR site located on the southeast coast of Staten Island. The negative velocities are out of the harbor, positive velocities are into the harbor. All data should be considered preliminary at this time. The plots are created by Rutgers University and made possible through collaboration between Rutgers University and Stevens Institute of Technology.
